In this 6-week course, learn the ins and outs of the tools and techniques that make up this classic style of painting. We’ll start from the ground up in this class moving from how to get the paint onto the paper to some final pieces you’ll be proud of!

A one-on-one technical set up session will be held prior to the class.

Itinerary:

Week 1: Getting started - All about brushes, paint and paper. Color swatching, flat wash and graded washes.

Week 2: “Water” and “Color” — How they work together and learning to predict how they will behave.

Week 3: Color mixing and glazing.

Week 4: Mixing neutrals and creating volume.

Week 5: Volume and highlights.

Week 6: Putting it all together!
